Understanding DNA records

What belongs in a DNA record?

A useful DNA record is more than a list of genes. It preserves the original source, the date, the exact result language, and whether the information came from a laboratory report, a clinician, or personal recollection.

01

Original test reports

Clinical genetic reports, carrier screening, pharmacogenomic results, ancestry files, and laboratory PDFs.

02

Source details

Testing laboratory, ordering clinic, collection date, report date, test name, and document reference.

03

Unverified recollections

Findings remembered from an older appointment, kept clearly separate until the original evidence is located.

Built on one essential rule

Memory is a starting point.
Evidence is the confirmation.

The Helixora method

From scattered memory
to a usable history.

Helixora gives every finding a source, a status, and a place in time. That makes your record easier to understand—and harder to misread.

02

Connect the source

Add the date, clinic, document name, and notes that could help locate or compare the original result.

Straight answers

Before you begin.

Is Helixora a medical laboratory?+

No. This website is a personal organization tool. It does not test DNA, verify identity, diagnose conditions, or replace an original laboratory report.

Can I call a remembered result “verified”?+

Not responsibly. Keep it marked as an unverified recollection until you review the original report or obtain direct confirmation from a qualified clinician.

Where is my information stored?+

In this prototype, entries are stored in local browser storage on the device you are using. Export a backup if you may clear your browser or change devices.

How do I find old DNA test records?+

Start with the clinic or laboratory that ordered the test. Ask for the complete report, test name, collection date, report date, methodology, result language, and any accession or report number. Our DNA records guide gives you a complete checklist.
